Autumn School BESIDE - Climate and Sustainable Finance (OPEN)
Join us for a dynamic Autumn School on Climate and Sustainable Finance at the University of Aveiro, as part of the BESIDE Project Training Programme. Antonio Baldaque will chair the session on Climate and Sustainable Finance Principles and the ESG Framework, on 2 October, from 9h00 to 13h00. Dennis Fritsch and Samia Baadj will lead sessions on Green & Blue Finance: Sustainable Instruments and Carbon Bonds on 22 October, from 9:00 to 17:00. First session will occur in Rooms 1.02 and 1.04 at IEETA/DETI. Second Session moved to Auditorium Mestre Hélder Castanheira, located near the bookstore. 3rd Edition - Soft Transferable Skills Training Program (Closed)
The 3rd edition of the Soft Transferable Skills Training Program is taking place at the Auditório Renato Araújo, Edifício Central e da Reitoria, between 12-14 March 2025. It will host workshops on job hunting in science; CV clinics/coaching; roads to leadership; roads to success; networking and career development; the power of volunteering to advance your career; evaluation of projects/activities in science communication and public engagement; how to maximize the visibility of your research using social media; innovation and money making; AI tools in practice aiming to contribute to advance the professional development and to boost and widen the career perspectives of students and researchers, irrespectively on their background and research domain.
Registrations close at 24th February. The workshops on CV clinics/coaching and evaluation of projects/activities in science communication and public engagement will overlap and are limited in the number of participants.
The Value of Ecosystem Services (Closed)
Join us for a dynamic training session on the Value of Ecosystem Services at the University of Aveiro, as part of the BESIDE Summer School 2024. Professor Sebastien Vilassante will lead a session on Ecosystem Services Valuation, on 7 May, 9h00-13h00, in the Sala do Senado, Rectory. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn from this renowned expert in environmental economics and sustainability research.
The other side of Research (Closed)
The other side of research is a training course on Responsible Research and Innovation, Dissemination and Impact for science, jointly organised by the BESIDE ERA Chair project and the EPIBOOST Twinning project of the University of Aveiro. Targeting researchers and science managers, this training aims to improve research and proposal writing skills and design efficient and impactful communication plans for public and policy meaningful engagement. Five sessions of 4h/day will provide practical knowledge on open science, open access publishing, data management, ethics, gender equality, public participation, stakeholder engagement strategies, writing policy briefs and the incorporation of these elements into a Horizon Europe proposal and the management of your science project outputs. Internationally renowned experts in the field will lead the sessions, including Andreas Kraemer from the Ecologic Institute, Agnieszka Sznyk from INNOWO, Antónia Correia and Pedro Príncipe, from the University of Minho and expert members of several international RRI networks. The training sessions will take place online on the 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 29th of April from 14:00 to 18:00. Additionally, there will be an in-person session on 30 April, giving participants a unique opportunity for hands-on learning.
2nd Summer School - Soft Skills (Closed)
Soft transferable skills’ training program from 13-15 March 2024 which aims to advance the professional development and widen the career perspectives of students and researchers, irrespectively of their background and area of specialization, to outperform in their professional duties and career paths. The training sessions included the following topics: carreer routes; scientific publishing and ethics; cv writing for academia vs. industry; menthal health and imposter phenomenon; diversity, equity and inclusion in science; community building for scientists; science innovation; open science; project management; data management.
