
Helena Vieira, ERA Chair of the BESIDE project at the University of Aveiro, will be a keynote speaker at the Green Deal Biotechnology Conference, taking place in Aveiro, Portugal on 26-28 May 2025.
Organized by the EFB Environmental Division, the conference will bring together leading scientists and industry experts to explore the latest developments in environmental biotechnology and resource recovery, with a focus on advancing the bioeconomy.

Helena Vieira joins a distinguished panel of keynote speakers from across Europe and North America, including David Burton (Dalhousie University, CA), David Kelly (University of Sheffield, UK), Luisa Orsini (University of Birmingham & Daphne Water Solutions, UK), Marc Delgado Aguilar (University of Girona, ES), Marcel Kuypers (Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology, DE) and María Rincón (European Commission, BE).
Her participation underlines BESIDE’s contribution to shaping sustainable economic and institutional frameworks for natural capital management and circular economy strategies in line with the European Green Deal.
