In October, BESIDE will host the Autumn School 2025 – Climate and Sustainable Finance at the University of Aveiro as part of the project’s training programme. This event will bring together international experts to discuss the principles of sustainable finance and green and blue financial instruments from a practical and applied perspective.

The first session, led by António Baldaque (Executive Director of the Centre for Sustainable Finance at Católica Lisbon School of Economics and Business, and former Managing Director at BlackRock in New York and London), will take place on 2 October from 9:00 to 13:00. This session will focus on ‘Climate and Sustainable Finance Principles and the ESG Framework’, combining theoretical foundations with practical case studies.
On 22 October, from 9:00 to 17:15, the programme continues with sessions dedicated to sustainable financial instruments. Samia Baadj (InnoFinatura Consulting and UN Women Spain) will discuss opportunities in green bonds and sustainable instruments, and Dennis Fritsch (Oceano Azul Foundation and Katapult Ocean) will talk about blue bonds and blue finance. In the afternoon, they will both lead practical workshops on sustainable investment analysis.
All sessions will take place in Rooms 1.02 and 1.04 at IEETA/DETI. Participation is free of charge, but registration is mandatory.
