This most recent publication examines the evolution of Sustainable Development Goal 13 (SDG13) and its targets in Portuguese political party manifestos and their European affiliations.<\/p><p>The article titled <em>&#8220;<\/em> <em>Current climate action trends in party-political manifestos: A<br \/>content analysis provides hints to move forward\u201d published in Wiley journal Sustainable Development <\/em>was written by BESIDE members Gon\u00e7alo Br\u00e1s (Assistant Researcher), Ana Lilleb\u00f8 (Scientific Coordinator), and Helena Vieira (ERA Chair holder) and uses socioeconomic research methods to track the evolution of the topics and terms linked to SDG13 in the last 3 election cycles in Portuguese policy and correlates the results with current European affiliation parties\u2019 trends.<\/p><p>The study results reveal significant variation in how political parties in Portugal prioritise climate action, with left-wing parties placing it at the forefront of their agendas and far right-wing ones showing limited to no commitment to SDG13. It also highlights how European political affiliations influence national parties\u2019 positions on this topic, underlining the importance of transnational cooperation in addressing global climate challenges.
