RESTORE4Cs\u2019 project coordinator, Ana Lilleb\u00f8 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.restore4cs.eu\/project\/university-of-aveiro\/\"><strong>University of Aveiro<\/strong><\/a>),\u00a0 presented the project on <strong>3 October<\/strong>, first with an e-poster presentation at Foyer 123, from 15:45 \u2013 16:30, and then with a panel discussion, moderated by Antonello Provenzale (CNR), focused on \u201c<strong>Challenges at the interface between water and ecosystems<\/strong>\u201c, that was held from 16:30 \u2013 18:00, during the session \u201c<strong>Biodiversity, ecosystems and geodiversity \u2013 interfaces in terms of initiative and scientific areas<\/strong>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>Programme outline available\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/egw2023.eurac.edu\/program-outline\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">EuroGEO Workshop 2023<\/h2>\n<p>EuroGEO brings together and coordinates activities in Europe that contribute to the initiatives of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/earthobservations.org\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Group on Earth Observations (GEO)<\/strong><\/a>. GEO is at a crossroad with defining its post-25 strategy (currently under\u00a0public consultation) which is planned to be adopted in November 2023 at the GEO ministerial summit in Cape Town, South Africa. The new strategy moves from \u201cEarth observation\u201d to \u201cEarth Intelligence\u201d and shifts the focus from services to equity to bridge the global information gaps.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s EuroGEO workshop offered the chance to position European initiatives in the light of the new GEO strategy and promote the coordination and interlinking of initiatives at the national and European levels, as well as across sectors and domains, in order to produce contributions to GEO that are pertinent and significant.<\/p>\n<p>The objectives of the workshop were to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Position EuroGEO with view to the new GEO strategy;<\/li>\n<li>Identify and exploit synergies across national and EU projects and initiatives;<\/li>\n<li>Support a nexus approach to address the triple pollution-climate-biodiversity crises;<\/li>\n<li>Create a dialogue among scientists, policy makers and end-users to support the co-design of EO based tools, knowledge, and policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More info about EuroGEO Workshop 2023 available\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/egw2023.eurac.edu\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Text by: Madeira Scauri (Communication team of Restore4Cs)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RESTORE4Cs was presented in EuroGEO 2023, which was held in person and online on 2 \u2013 4 October 2023, at Eurac Research in Bolzano, Italy.
